The Founder’s “Why”
Having served for 24 years in the Army and overcoming my own challenges from multiple deployments, I have a strong desire to help my fellow Veterans (and their families) overcome physical and mental trauma. I will be forever grateful for those that served before me, with me, and currently serving.
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for special needs children/adults as I had and eventually lost my baby brother (Jay) to Down syndrome. This organization is my way to keep Jay’s memory alive, and bring a moment of joy to families with special needs children/adults that will hopefully last a lifetime.
I have fond memories of my mother, unfortunately she passed away while I was a relatively young. This and other life events have encouraged me to lend a hand to members of single-parent households so they can live a more hopeful and fulfilling life.
I not only want to see all these special groups of people to survive, my goal is they thrive!
